Helios Towers Tanzania Management Team

Philippe Loridon, Chief Executive Officer

Philippe has been a Chief Executive Officer of Helios Towers Tanzania since January 2015. Philippe joined the company from Equateur Telecom Congo (“ETC”), a subsidiary company of Bahrain-based Bintel Group, where he had been Chief Executive Officer since December 2010 and where he re-launched ETC Congo Brazzaville. Prior to this, Philippe accumulated 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, including 13 years at Hutchison Whampoa, the Fortune 500 Company and provider of global mobile telecoms services. During his time at Hutchison Whampoa, Philippe initially fulfilled senior roles in sales, marketing and business development before becoming Head of Hutchison Telecommunications’ Latin American operations between 2000 and 2002. Between 2002 and 2010, Philippe occupied several senior positions in the telecoms industry, including Bemobile Limited, the mobile unit of Papua New Guinea’s state-owned telecoms company and San Marino Telecom, the country’s national telecoms operator, where he was Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Loridon is from France.

Ivan Chunnett, Chief Financial Officer

Ivan joined Helios Towers Tanzania in September 2014 as Group Financial Controller and was promoted to Helios Towers Tanzania CFO in September 2015. Prior to joining HTT, Ivan was head of Financial Control & Governance at Barclays, where he previously held various positions in the UK, Africa and the UAE. Ivan has 15+ years of combined experience in financial auditing, control and management.

Eleanor Ngalo, Legal Manager & Company Secretary

Eleanor joined HTT in October 2011 as Legal Manager & Company Secretary. Prior to joining HTT, Eleanor worked with Stanbic Bank as Head of Credit Legal as a key member of the team preparing legal documents for Corporate and Investment customers as well as Vehicle and Asset Finance customers. Ms. Ngalo has over 10 years’ experience in banking, compliance, contract management and mergers and acquisition. Eleanor has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Plymouth, an LLM in Commercial Law from University of Cardiff and is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.

Ahmed Mohamed, Sales & Marketing Director

Ahmed joined Helios Tower Tanzania in January 2016 as the Sales & Marketing Director. Prior to joining HTT, Ahmed worked for Zantel, part of Etisalat as the Commercial Director for enterprise and consumer broadband. Ahmed also worked for Smile Communications in Tanzania as the Head of Sales and Marketing. Ahmed is an experienced telecom professional coming from engineering background and has worked as PMO for over 7 years before moving on to commercial roles.

Francis Kiaga, Head of Human Resources Department

Francis joined Helios Towers Tanzania in September 2015 as the Head of Human Resources Department, Security and SHEQ. He has 25 years of experience in human resources management nationally and internationally.
Prior to this, he worked as the Chief Human Resources Officer with the Zanzibar Telecommunication Company (Zantel) for about three (3) years. He joined Zantel after a four years stay with Ernst & Young Tanzania where he was working as Head of Performance Improvement, a consultancy line that is responsible for advising clients on Human Resources issues and improvement of performance in general.

Mohamed Shakir, Head of Supply Chain

Mohamed joined Helios Towers Tanzania in September 2016 as Head of Supply Chain. Prior to joining HTT, he worked for Airtel Tanzania Limited as the Procurement and Logistics Manager. Mohamed has over 14 years of experience in Supply Chain Management from Information Technology and Telecommunication Industry.

Fritz Dzeklo, Project Director

Fritz joined Helios Towers in 2012. Prior to joining Helios Towers Tanzania, he worked with Vodafone in project roles and Helios Towers Ghana where he was recently the Projects Director. Fritz holds BSc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree from Regional Maritime University in Ghana and a Project Management Professional.

Ramsey J. Koola, Head of Business Support

Ramsey J. Koola joined Helios tower in 2015, he is currently heading Business support department. He has over 20 years’ experience in telecommunication network operations, planning and project management. For past 10 years, he has worked as Managing Director of privately owned telecommunication company providing professional services across Africa. Prior to that he has worked as Technical Support manager with Siemens telecommunication (Pty) and CELLC in South Africa. He was one of the pioneers who built the first GSM network in East Africa under TRITEL (1995).

Neil Conquest, Head of Operations & Maintenance

Neil joined Helios Towers Tanzania in October 2015 as a Black Belt and then moved into a functional role of Head of Operations & Maintenance. Previous to this Neil worked in the temporary power industry for Aggreko International Power Projects, joining as an engineer and finishing in a senior operations position covering North & East Africa. In this time he joined Aggreko’s journey to Operational Excellence with becoming a Green Belt and then progressing on the Black Belt training.
